Prague Letňany Airport is a public domestic and private international aerodrome with where flight information are provided. It offers two grassy landing and takeoff runways. It is the only airport in the Czech Republic that lies near the Prague subway. Thank to this strategic location, 9 km from the city center, it is a perfect gateway to the capital for general aviation aircraft.
Besides its main purpose, the area can be used for a wide range of other activities. It is used for cultural events, especially for open air concerts. The hangars offer an interesting place for more intimate events. You will find here also an off-road trail, where you can test your off-road driving abilities. A large part of the airport is a national natural monument, which protects the local population of European ground squirrels and the local biotope.
The operator is Letiště Praha Letňany, s.r.o.
Prague Letňany Airport is part of project Management of Selected Sites of the European Ground Squirrel (Spermophilus citellus) in the Czech Republic in 2015
